Telugu director and writer Nandyala Ravi succumbed to Covid-19 on Friday (May 14). He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad after he tested positive for the deadly virus. Earlier, when the news about Nandyala Ravi testing Covid positive broke, a few celebrities from the Telugu film industry had come forward to help him and his family members to fight the battle with the virus. Megastar Chiranjeevi was one of them. Also, comedian Saptagiri donated Rs 1 lakh to the filmmaker for his hospital treatment, producer K Radha Mohan also gave Rs 1 lakh to Nandyala. His death has sent shockwaves to the entire Telugu film industry.
Condolence messages are pouring in for the director on social media. Actor Naga Shaurya mourned his death on social media as he tweeted, “Shocked by the news, You fought till the last:(#NandyalaRavi My Deepest Condolences”.

Nandyala Ravi was known for his films like Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki, Orey Bujjigaa, and Power Play.

Recently, journalist-actor TNR aka Thummala Narsimha Reddy died in a private hospital in Hyderabad due to Covid-19 related complications, last year Telugu producer Pokuri Rama Rao also died of Covid.
Telangana is witnessing a decline in fresh Covid infections with 4,693 new Covid-19 cases being recorded on Thursday, which took the caseload to 5,16,404.
