In a sad piece of news, one of the notable Tollywood movie producers RR Venkat passed away today i.e. on September 27. He passed away due to kidney failure at AIG Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He was undergoing treatment for kidney ailments for quite some time. As per reports, he was 54 and he had entered the film industry 15 years ago by distributing and financing films and he soon became one of the top producers.
RR Venkat is known for producing several films under his banner named RR Movie Makers including Prema Kavali, Kick, Bahumathi, Gundammagari Manavadu, Paisa, Autonagar Surya, Businessman, Rangad, Victory, Maayajaalam, Andhrawala and Samanyudu.
Many do not know that he also produced Bollywood films such as James and Ek Haseena Thi and others. He also ventured into Hollywood with his movie called Divorce Invitation. In the movie, Jonathan Bennett had played the lead role and it was directed by veteran SV Krishna Reddy which was a remake of SV Krishna Reddy’s Srikanth and Bahaubali fame Ramya Krishnan starrer Aahwanam. He had helped a lot of directors to revive their careers.

Venkat also did a lot of charity work. And the year 2011, he received an honorary doctorate from the Open International University for Complementary Medicines at the University of Colombo for his contributions to society and for his noble works. Unfortunately, several Telugu celebs passed away this year. A few days ago, actor Uttej’s wife dies due to cancer, earlier in May we got to know that Telugu director-writer Nandyala Ravi succumbed to Covid-19. Veteran Telugu singer G Anand also passed away due to Covid.
