Tollywood Drugs Case: Telugu actor Navdeep papped by the shutterbugs at the ED office

After Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh and Ravi Teja, Navdeep is the next Tollywood celebrity who appeared before the Enforcement Directorate as he was summoned. He was spotted at the ED office today in Hyderabad today amid security and shutterbugs. Navdeep was wearing casual attire, mask and was holding a file.

For the unversed, all the abovementioned celebs including Navdeep were questioned in connection with a 4-year-old money-laundering and drugs case. As per reports, in the next 10 days, Cinematographer Shyam K. Naidu, actors Subbaraju, Tanish, Nandu, Mumaith Khan and Srinivas will also appear at the ED office for questioning. The investigation will go on till September 22.

For the uninitiated, no charge sheets were filed against the Tollywood celebs as there was a lack of evidence. In 2017, authorities of Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department in Hyderabad had busted a drug racket in which several students and celebs were allegedly using high-end narcotics such as LSD and MDMA. The ED booked this case under PMLA i.e. Prevention of Money Laundering Act and all the financial history is being scrutinized to see any foul play.

On the work front, Navdeep will be seen in Thala Ajith starter Valimai. He is playing a pivotal role in the Tamil film which is being directed by H Vinoth. The actor also has another Tamil movie called Veeramadevi, which stars Sunny Leone in the lead role.
