Vindu Dara Singh : Gurunath Meiyappan lost Rs 1 Crore on betting

Vindu Dara Singh small time actor who was arrested in connection to IPL spot Fixing scandal was today produced before the court where his remand was further extended to May 28. Vindu had confessed to the Mumbai Police that he had bet on behalf of Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan, and also that Meiyappan has lost over Rs. 1 crore in betting.

Mr Meiyappan’s home in Chennai was visited by Mumbai police as part of their investigations into the spot-fixing scandal. But as he was not home and the police team affixed summons to his door. Mr Meiyappan has been asked to appear before investigators of the Mumbai Crime Branch between 11 am and 5 pm today. Mr Meiyappan, however, has sought more time and will appear before the police only on Monday.

According to sources,The police has intercepted several “friendly” phone conversations between the actor and Mr Meiyappan. Immediately after one of these calls, the police sources allege, Vindu called up a bookie. Vindu had also named some Bollywood personalities.
