Want to know what Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be wearing in ‘Padmavati’?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated period drama ‘Padmavati‘ went on floors on November 1 in Filmcity, Goregaon. The director is ensuring complete security to guard the look of his actors. But everybody is interested to know what will be the look sported by Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.

Now, the Delhi-based designer duo Rimple and Harpreet Narula threw some light on their costumes in the movie. They have already watched the play to study the costumes better. Rimple revealed to a web portal, “I cannot think of anyone else who can look as earthy and regal as Ranveer Singh. His look is intense (refers to his kohl-lined eyes), and the flow of fabric will add to his princely charm. He looks like a dream and is doing full justice to our designs.”

She says that Bhansali guides them with the costumes and his brief is to keep it simple but ornate. She adds, “Balance is key. He knows what he wants. His knowledge of craftsmanship and hold on perfection are well known. But he is not overbearing. He gives you a free hand, which you will see reflect in the creations.”

Their last couture week, the duo had put up a show called Maharaja & Company and they seem to borrow some influences from there. Harpreet says, “Besides, the Persian influence on Ranveer’s wardrobe, we had to research Sinhalese influences. Padmini hailed from Sri Lanka, and there is a chunk in the film where she is dressed in ethnic wear that reflects the neighbouring state’s traditions.”

Now, we are waiting to see our stars in these regal avatars. ‘Padmavati’ will be releasing on November 17, 2017.
