Lamberghini fame Ragini Tandan on debuting as a playback singer in Bollywood with Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Lovestory: “It wasn’t an easy door to open”

When Lamberghini exploded onto the scene in 2018, the song became a viral sensation, dominating playlists and amassing millions of streams. Yet, despite its massive success, Bollywood has remained elusive—until now. Five years later, Ragini Tandan finally makes her playback debut with Tappe from Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Lovestory, starring Vardhan Puri and Kaveri Kapur, directed by Kunal Kohli.

“Bollywood wasn’t an easy door to open, even after Lamberghini,” Ragini shares. “It took time, patience, and a lot of hard work to reach here. I’m grateful and thankful that my debut is happening in a film directed by Kunal Kohli Sir—it makes the journey feel truly worth it.”

Despite releasing nearly 30 independent singles, Ragini often found herself being labelled a ‘one-hit wonder,’ with audiences expecting her to recreate the same high-energy sound. But her musical range goes far beyond just dance-floor anthems, and Tappe marks the beginning of a new chapter—one that she’s been patiently waiting for.

As she steps into Bollywood, Ragini is also gearing up for another special release. On February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day, she will unveil Maana—a heartfelt pop melody that blends soothing acoustic elements with refreshing electronic textures.

With Tappe making its way into Bollywood and Maana celebrating love, Ragini Tandan is proving that her musical journey is only getting started.

Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Lovestory is set to release on February 11, 2025.
