Aamir Ali on not being able to meet daughter post divorce with Sanjeeda Sheikh: Don’t want to play any cards, but a man is always blamed

Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh got married in the year 2012 after a long period of courtship. In 2020, it was revealed that the couple had a daughter named Ayra through surrogacy, however, they later got separated the same year. Last year, their divorce was finalised with Sanjeeda getting the custody of their daughter. And now, Aamir has finally opened up about that phase of his life and not being able to meet Ayra for close to a year now.

Aamir hasn’t been able to meet his daughter for the past 10 months and on August 30, she will turn three. While talking to ETimes, the actor opened up about the same, sharing, “It’s a sensitive topic and I don’t wish to talk about it. I don’t want to play any cards, but unfortunately, a man is always blamed. I have always maintained a dignified silence on matters related to my personal life. Someone I have spent so many years with deserves respect. So, I won’t say anything. I just wish them all the best. I am sure Ayra is being taken care of in the best way possible and I only have immense love for her.”

Not just that, Aamir Ali also spoke about going through the divorce with Sanjeeda Sheikh, as he said, “It was extremely difficult at that point. After my marriage fell apart, main hil chuka tha. But I am a sportsman by nature, and I never give up. I have always been a happy soul, and I am glad that I am back to being that. I don’t harbour ill feelings for anyone and I wish the best for my ex. Sab khush raho life mein. Everything happens for a reason and everyone ought to be happy. If COVID-19 can strike us, anything can happen. Relationships ka tootna toh phir bahut chhoti baat hoti hai. During the pandemic, I got a lot of time to introspect. I started looking at the positives, be it from COVID-19 or my failed relationship. I learnt to move on. If I am happy, I will be able to keep everyone around me happy or my world will collapse.” The actor also revealed that he hasn’t been in touch with Sanjeeda post the divorce.
