The entire nation came to a standstill when the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24. Lockdown taught everyone lots of things; most importantly how to value relationships. MX Exclusive ‘Lockdown Rishtey’ explores the thick and thin nuances of relationships. There are 5 stories that feature Rohit Roy, Gurdip Punjj, Abhishek Kapur, and Indraneel Bhattacharya among others. Everyone shot their parts from home using their phones.
We spoke to Abhishek Kapur recently and asked his experience of shooting himself from home. He said, “It’s a major challenge to shoot everything from home as you have to set the angles and have to do it by yourself. It took me four days to finish my part. At the end of the day, it was very tiring but this is one of the most enjoyable projects I have done. Everybody has shot their parts by themselves. I taught my helper how to shoot.”
Talking about the series, he said, “The series teaches to value relationships in life. So the moral of the story is to value the relationships, the people who love you and not to take them for granted. There is a reality and purity in the story.”

Abhishek’s family stays in Delhi and he has not met them for one year. “My lifestyle is completely different in Delhi as I’m pampered there like a kid. But when I come back to Mumbai, responsibilities change. It becomes very different in both cities. When it comes to relationship, you miss your family and only they can be honest in every situation,” he said.
He added, “Due to the shooting schedule, I don’t get time to meet my parents but I’m planning to go for Diwali and spend time with them. This lockdown taught me a lot and it was very irritating also. First two weeks, I used to feel happy thinking that I have got offs, but suddenly in the third week, I started hating as you can’t go out and meet anyone. But this project came and I got very excited and started shooting. That gave me energy and after that, I started going to sets.”
Directed by Abhijit Das, ‘Lockdown Rishtey’ is streaming from October 21 on MX Player.
