Dilip Joshi has been winning the hearts of the audience with his stint as Jethalal Gada in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The show recently clocked 15 years and the actor has been a part of it since then. Recently, several actors have been opting out of the show due to various reasons. As per reports, Dilip Joshi is also taking a break from the show.

Here’s why Dilip Joshi is taking a break from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

As per reports, a source close to the actor stated to a news portal, “Dilip Joshi has taken a break from his show and is currently on a short religious trip to Tanzania with his family. The actor is in Daresalaam for a special occasion that is happening in the Swaminarayan temple.” The actor hinted at his exit from the show for a few days during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration episode.

TMKOC and the ongoing controversies

For the past few years, the show has been grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons. It is mired in controversies after actors like Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal and Shailesh Lodha revealed shocking details about working ethics on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Jennifer alleged Asit Modi of making multiple unwelcome sexual advances towards her. She also accused other production members of the show of their rude behavior. Shailesh Lodha, who earlier played the character of Taarak Mehta revealed the real reason behind his exit and claimed that Asit Modi used objectionable language and also called the cast and crew of the show, his servants. He had also filed a case against Asit Modi for not clearing his dues. Apart from them, Monika Bhadoriya and Priya Ahuja also leveled allegations of misbehavior against makers.
