Former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Ajaz Khan was granted bail on Friday. The actor was arrested for allegedly sharing objectionable remarks during Facebook live.
As per a report in Times of India, Ajaz was arrested by Khar police for his objectionable Facebook post which amounted to acts of defamation, hate speech and violation of prohibitory orders. The actor was charged under section 153A and others of the IPC for promoting enmity among communities. Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate court granted him bail on a surety of Rs 1 lakh.

Expressing his gratitude towards his lawyers, Ajaz took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Thank you for all your prayers & good wishes. Justice has been prevailed. My gratitude to my lawyers Nazneen Khatri and Zoheb Shaikh. #LoveYouAll(sic)”

However Ajaz has been just granted bail, the case against him is still under investigation. Upon the actor’s arrest, officials had said, “He has been charged under section 153A and others of the IPC for promoting enmity among communities. Further probe is underway.”
Interestingly, this is not the actor’s first run-in with the law. Earlier in 2018, he had been arrested for allegedly possessing banned drugs.
