Self-proclaimed guru and internet sensation Abhay Singh, popularly known as IIT Baba from the Maha Kumbh Mela, made headlines with his bold prediction that India would lose to Pakistan in Sunday’s much-anticipated cricket clash. However, his prophecy turned out to be completely off the mark as Team India secured a resounding victory. Actor Aly Goni was among the many who poked fun at IIT Baba’s inaccurate forecast, taking to social media to deliver a playful dig.
IIT Baba prediction about India vs Pakistan match
Prior to the match, a video of IIT Baba surfaced in which he confidently stated that India would not win and even singled out Virat Kohli, predicting his failure on the field. “Main tumko pehle se bol raha hu, is baar India nahi jeetegi. Jo Jo hain, Virat Kohli…sabko bol do ki aaj jitke dikhaye. Ab maine mana kar diya hai ke nahi jeetegi to nahi jeetegi. Ab kya, bhagwaan bade hain ya tum bade ho?” (I’m telling you in advance, this time India won’t win. Whoever it is—Virat Kohli, anyone—tell them to win today if they can. Now that I have declared it, they won’t win. So, what now? Is God greater, or are you?)”
Aly Goni on IIT Baba’s prediction
As the match played out, IIT Baba’s prediction spectacularly crumbled, with Kohli leading India to a six-wicket win over Pakistan. Aly Goni wasted no time in roasting the self-styled guru, tweeting, “Yeh IIT Baba ka career Virat ne shuru hone se pehle hi khatam kar diya” (Virat ended IIT Baba’s career before it even began). His witty remark quickly gained traction, drawing a flood of hilarious responses from fans online.

Apart from the jokes, Aly also praised Virat Kohli’s stellar performance, calling him “The greatest chase master #KingKohli.” Many other celebrities joined in to celebrate India’s win, including Anushka Sharma, who expressed her joy as her husband shattered multiple records in the game. The victory effectively knocked Pakistan out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Following the backlash, IIT Baba took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue an apology, writing, “I want to publicly apologize and ask each one of you to celebrate—it’s party time!”
