Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain opened up about the challenges they faced in the aftermath of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The couple spoke about the turmoil they faced and the ups and downs they witnessed during the tough phase. Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain, who are amongst the few contestants on the reality TV show, Smart Jodi, talked about what they went through after SSR’s demise. Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in June 2020 and his sudden and untimely death had left many heartbroken. Ankita had previously worked with Sushant in the show Pavitra Rishta and was also in a relationship with the late actor. They dated from 2010 to 2016.
In the second episode of Smart Jodi, Ankita and her husband opened up about the tough phase in their relationship. The couple went down memory lane and spoke about the first time they met. Ankita went on to share how Vicky and she connected when she was going through a tough phase. The couple then went on to talk about the phase after SSR’s demise, but did not take names.
Lokhande said, “I have forgotten my past. But in that moment, that thing needed me and I was unable to tell that to Vicky. But he understood me without me needing to say anything.”

Talking about the challenges they overcame in their relationship, Ankita’s husband said, “There cannot be a tougher test for a relationship than what happened suddenly. There was a turn that shocked not just us but the whole nation. Nobody can be prepared for such a thing.”
After SSR’s death, Ankita made several appearances with the late actor’s family. She showed support to them during their time of grief. However, during this time, Vicky Jain faced backlash. He was trolled on social media. Addressing the same, Jain said, “A lot of people had wrong notions about things. I was unable to understand it all. I am proud of Ankita that she very boldly handled it. She fulfilled whatever duties and responsibilities she had. Wherever it was needed, she said her piece for herself and that relationship. For that honesty, I always supported her.”
Ankita and Vicky got married on December 14, last year. They began dating in 2019. The couple had a three-day-long star-studded affair, hosted in Mumbai.
