Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande appeared together on Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Pavitra Rishta’. They became household names with this show as their characters Manav and Archana were loved by the audience. Sushant and Ankita’s love bloomed on the show and from an on-screen couple, they became off-screen couple too. It was one of the most popular daily soaps back in 2009.
A few years later, Sushant quit the show to start his career in Bollywood. Hitten Ttejwani replaced him and Sushant made his debut with ‘Kai Po Che’ in 2013. He became an overnight star. Sushant and Ankita were still in the relationship and after six years, they parted ways.
Now, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ekta Kapoor and Ankita Lokhande are in talks to bring ‘Pavitra Rishta’ back on TV in loving memory of Sushant. A source told, “The show was close to Sushant’s heart as it gave him the platform to scale new heights and both Ekta and Ankita feel that a new season will be the best tribute to the deceased actor.”

It further said, “Ekta has spearheaded several sequels on TV, including ‘Hum Paanch’, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and ‘Naagin’. It was Ankita who approached Ekta with the idea and since ‘Pavitra Rishta’ is a special show for her too, she immediately agreed. She will sit with her team of writers and explore how to take the daily soap forward.”
The source also said that it will start once everyone is satisfied with the script and character sketches.
