Ankita Lokhande reveals the reason behind not attending Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral: I couldn’t muster up that courage

Ankita Lokhande is one of the most talked-about contestants of Bigg Boss 17. In the latest episode of the Salman Khan-hosted show, Ankita opened up about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and revealed why she didn’t go to his funeral. The actress was speaking to Munawar Faruqui when his shayari about heartbreak made her feel nostalgic and that’s when she spoke about SSR.

Ankita said, “Mat bol yeh saari chize, voh hit karti hai buri tarike se (Don’t say all these things, it hits badly). But I like what you said.” She then started singing M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’s song Kaun Tujhe, which starred Sushant Singh Rajput.

Ankita Lokhande then remembered Sushant Singh Rajput and told Munawar, “Bohot acha insaan tha voh. He was a good man. Main aise bolti hu na kabhi, THA, muje itna ajeeb lagta hai. Matlab abhi toh thik hai normal ho gaya hai. Vicky ka bhi dost hai na Sushant toh you know abb voh nahi rha iss duniya is the most worst feeling (And when I use the word ‘was’, I feel so strange. I mean, now it’s okay, it’s normal. Sushant was Vicky’s friend also and when I realise that he is no more, that is the worst feeling).”

When Munawar asked Ankita about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, she responded saying “Abhi yeh baat nahi karna chahti lekin aisa nahi hai. Muje yeh nahi batana tuje kuch bhi (smiles) (I don’t want to talk about it now and I don’t want to say anything to you now).” To this, Munawar added, “Logo ke version hai sabke. Alag alag but you are one of them jisko exactly pata hai (People have different versions but you are the one who knows what exactly happened)”.

Furthermore, Munawar asked Ankita if she knows ‘exactly what went wrong’ with Sushant and she said yes. She then went on to add, “Main toh uske funeral pe bhi nahi gayi thi. Main jaa hi nahi paayi. Mujhe laga main nahi dekh sakti yeh. Vicky ne bola ki tu jaa kar aa. Maine kaha nahi. Kaise dekh sakti hun. (I did not even go to the funeral. I couldn’t go. I thought I wouldn’t be able to see that. Vicky asked me to go, but I couldn’t muster up that courage).”

This isn’t the first time she spoke about Sushant in Bigg Boss 17. In the previous episodes of the show, Ankita poured her heart out as she opened up about her breakup with Sushant.

For the uninitiated, Ankita and Sushant fell in love while shooting for the TV show Pavitra Rishta. Ankita and Sushant were in a relationship for 7 years before calling it quits. Post breakup, both moved on in their lives. Ankita is married to Vicky Jain, who is also a part of Bigg Boss 17. On the other hand, Sushant was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14, 2020. At that time, he was dating Rhea Chakraborty. SSR’s funeral was attended by Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, and Varun Sharma among others.
