Annup Sonii has come up with a hard-hitting tale on domestic violence in the short film ‘The Relationship Manager’. The movie also stars Divya Dutta who plays a victim of domestic violence. Annup plays a relationship manager who tries to hear out Divya’s character and solve her problem while talking to her over the phone amid the lockdown.
We spoke to Annup if he had any experience of someone becoming messiah or farista for him when he was in problem, to which the actor said, “Ye sari cheezon ke liye farista banne ki zaroorat nahi hain. Aam zindagi main aisi cheezen hoti hain.” Giving his example, Annup said, “When I came to Mumbai to become an actor 23 years back, obviously the initial days were very difficult and tough and those days we didn’t have too many platforms like today. Due to less opportunities, there was a dip and I thought of quitting acting and Mumbai and go back to Delhi.”
A line in a book changed his mind. “I realised that if I want something more in life, I have to sacrifice those luxuries. It worked for me and I stayed back,” said the ‘Balika Vadhu’ actor.
Annup said that if you feel like giving suggestion to friends or acquaintances, don’t keep it in your heart and just tell the person. He added, “You may not know but your suggestion might work. If you see your friend in distress, talk to them. Communication is the key.” He also said that his advice or suggestion worked for others too.
