Anupamaa actor Paras Kalnawat is COVID-19 positive. The news of him testing positive broke out yesterday, after his test results. Paras plays the role of Rupali Ganguly’s (Anupamaa) onscreen son Samar Shah. After Paras tested Coronavirus positive, the shooting of the show came to a halt. The show’s producer Rajan Shahi also released an official statement citing the precautionary measures he has taken for the team.
We, at Bollywood Bubble, got into an exclusive chat with Paras Kalnawat a few hours ago, to know about his health, work, and more. Sharing how he understood he has contracted the virus, Paras said, “I was not feeling well for the last few days and got off from work for two days. I was not shooting for a couple of days for the show as I wasn’t feeling well. Then I decided to take a complete body test, blood test and I also got the COVID test done. The next day, I got to know that I’m COVID positive.”
Ask him about the first thoughts after getting the results, he said, “I was not exactly paranoid, I was just stressed about the show, i.e. Anupamaa. I have been required to shoot every day, and I was a little worried about work. Then I informed the production that I have tested positive for COVID-19. So, the first thought that came to my mind was about the show, like what next. I informed the production and team about my health.”
When asked if the track of Anupamaa is likely to change due to his absence, Paras said that he had no clue. “Not exactly, I have not been informed about anything related to track change or developments in the show. Rajan (Shahi) Sir is taking care of everything. He is looking after everyone’s health because for him, everyone’s health matters first,” added Paras.
The entire team of Anupamaa was tested for COVID 19 yesterday, as soon as Paras was tested positive. Giving an update on the test results of team Anupamaa, Paras revealed that no one is diagnosed with COVID. “Everyone got tested yesterday. The entire unit got tested yesterday, and the reports have just arrived, and no one has tested positive. Yes, fortunately, all my team members have tested negative for COVID,” stated Paras.

Sharing the precautions he has been taking during the quarantine period, Paras said, “I am taken all the medications and steam. I have been taking a few medicines that I’ve been given by the doctors. I’m quarantined in a separate room. I stay in a 3BHK apartment with my family, and all of us are quarantining in separate rooms.
“I’ve been told to quarantine for 14 days, but I will get my second tests done after 7 days. I was feeling the symptoms for the last 5 to 6 days, so I assume that I had the virus since the last 7 or 8 days,” he further explained.
When asked how he plans to pass his quarantine time, Paras shared, “I have no idea since the last 2 days, I am not keeping that well, I have been going through a severe headache, and yesterday I had a little bit of fever as well. So, I have no plans to spend these days in quarantine. I have nothing to do. If I feel a little better, I will write, because I love writing shayaris. But still, I’m waiting for a time, when I feel completely fine, and I feel that I’m recovering.”
The young actor also revealed that team Anupamaa are in constant touch with him, and comforting him. “Rupali (Ganguly) ma’am, Sudhanshu (Pandey) Sir, and others are in my contact. Everybody has been calling me and asking about my health. Even Rajan (Shahi) Sir has been calling me since the last two days,” Paras told us.
Paras also shared how much he is missing shooting for Anupamaa and playing his character. “I’m really going to miss shooting this while. That is the only thing, I am missing right now. It has been 3 to 4 days, I guess, I’m not shooting. There has never been a time when I’m not shooting for 4 days at a stretch. So, this is the first time since Anupamaa has started that I’m not shooting for 4 days continuously. So, actually, I’m missing playing Samar,” he asserted.
Lastly, when asked if he would be apprehensive to join shoot again after recovering from the disease, Paras shared he won’t be nervous. “To be honest, life goes on, so I won’t be even thinking about it, and get nervous that I might contract COVID again. But, I’ve always been careful about it. I have been taking all the necessary precautions always like sanitizing my hands, wearing masks, and so on. I also tell the unit to sanitize my room regularly, and they have been doing it since day 1. So, I’m very careful about the safety measures around. So, I would be the same, and would not think about it much,” concluded Paras Kalnawat.
Here’s wishing Paras Kalnawat a speedy recovery and good health. Hoping he jumps back to action soon!
