Asha Negi recalls casting couch experience in her 20s; reveals a coordinator once tying to BRAINWASH her to compromise

Actress Asha Negi – who became a household name after essaying the part of Purvi Deshmukh Kirloskar in Pavitra Rishta, has come a long way from being a TV actress. The actress – who was recently seen in crime thriller series Honeymoon Photographer, opened up about her casting couch experience and the time a coordinator tried hard to brainwash her and get her to compromise. Asha Negi recalls casting couch experience

During a recent interaction with Hauterrfly, Asha Negi opened up about her casting couch experience during her early 20s. Recalling an incident, the ‘Pavitra Rishta’ actress said, “Back then, there were coordinators. This was some coordinator during that time, some random guy. I ended up meeting. I’m glad that we met and he started talking about television mein ye woh, and I was in my early 20s. He was almost trying to brainwash me that this is what happens and this is how you will grow. He told me, ‘Jitne bhi bade TV actors hai, all have done it.'”

The ‘Honeymoon Photographer’ actress stated that she sensed his intentions despite him not clearly stating anything about compromising herself. She noted that if this is how things work in the industry, then she would not be interested in a career here. Asha then recalled calling a friend who was not shocked and shrugged it off as a normal incident. She said, “I told him, ‘If this happens, then I’m not interested’… My friend just said, ‘All this happens; it’s normal.’ He wasn’t shocked at all.”

She added that while she acted confident, the incident actually left her feeling terrified.

Aside from playing Purvi Deshmukh Kirloskar in Pavitra Rishta, Asha Negi also featured in the web series Baarish. She also participated in the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6.
