SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali created a phenomenon worldwide. It smashed each and every record at the box-office. The success of both the movies of the franchise is still a major part of discussions even now. It starred Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles. Netflix is planning to make a limited series that is a prequel to Baahubali. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Netflix has now started working on a new version of the show at a whopping cost of Rs. 200 crore.
It was reported that Mrunal Thakur will play Sivagami in Netflix’s series. The project was scrapped by the makers after 70 per cent of the shooting worth Rs. 100 crore was completed as they didn’t like the outcome of it. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying, “The makers were not happy with the way the film was shaping up. They shot almost 70% of the film and decided to scrap it completely as they didn’t want to compromise on the quality.”
Mrunal Thakur is reportedly replaced by the Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi. Mrunal has date issues as the whole project will be shot again. Wamiqa Gabbi had worked in movies like Jab We Met, Mausam and Love Aaj Kal. The source said that the series will be in place by the year-end.

Produced by SS Rajamouli along with Netflix, it will be of 9 episode with two-season limited series. It will show the rise of Sivagami set in the world of Mahishmati.
Talking about Mrunal Thakur, she will be seen in Jersey opposite Shahid Kapoor and Toofan opposite Farhan Akhtar.
