Coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on everyone. Every industry has been affected by it. As television and movie industry had also suspended their work due to the crisis, shoots of many movies and daily soaps were also stalled. There are some actors whose payments are still pending as production houses have not yet paid them.
One such actress is ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ actress Saumya Tandon. Earlier too she spoke about non-payment of dues. Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, she said how production houses have been asked to make budget cuts. “Our payments are also delayed. My payments are severely delayed. So, yes the payments are yet to be completely cleared. I don’t distrust them (producers) and I am sure they should and they would clear but yes, they are delayed,” she said.
When SpotboyE spoke to Aasif Sheikh aka Vibhuti Narayan about resuming shoot, he said, “For how long can one sit at home and wait? It was already more than 90 days and this is now a way of life and we have to live with it until the vaccination comes. Work is life and I think now we have to see how we can do it with lesser people, smaller units and also, by maintaining hygiene. We are performers and need a platform to perform.”

On pay cuts, he said, “Yes, money has been slashed not just ours but others also. Like there have been minus 20-30% and I think it’s fine because it’s a grave situation for everyone. If the channel will not make money, how will they give production houses? And in this lockdown, everyone has faced the financial crunch. So, we are basically giving them time to recover. Wheels have to keep moving, it should not stop. And when the overall economy will get better, we will also start getting what we deserve.”
Aasif recently had a video interview with us where he spoke about his quarantine time with his family.
