Bigg Boss 14: Devoleena Bhattacharjee gets ’emotional’ about her father’s demise and struggles of family

Devoleena Bhattacharjee fans were disappointed after she had to quit Bigg Boss 13 midway owing to medical reasons. However, brought a huge smile to everyone’s face as she entered Bigg Boss 14. Devo stepped into the BB 14 house as contestant Eijaz Khan’s proxy. Eijaz had to take a temporary exit due to prior work commitments and Devo filled in his shoes. Ever since her entry, she is grabbing eyeballs for her strong opinions and fights with Nikki Tamboli and Arshi Khan.

But, in the latest episode of Bigg Boss 14, viewers got to see an emotional side of Devoleena Bhattacharjee. Devo got emotional as she opened up about her father’s unfortunate demise and the struggles her family had to face after. Opening her heart out, Devoleena revealed the problems her family faced after her father’s passing away. She mentioned that without a man’s presence in the house, society tries to belittle the family.

The actress shared that her father bid his heavenly abode when she was young. Post her dad’s demise, her mother struggled a lot to manage the house and work simultaneously. Devoleena revealed that she was 11 years old when her father passed away. She shared that her mother was also ill (unwell), but she did not miss work. Devo’s mother prepared food as she and her siblings went to school. She expressed that society did not treat them well in the absence of her father. “It is the fact of life if there is no father…Our society looks down upon families where father is not present,” an emotional Devoleena shared.

The Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress also opened up about her young brother’s passing away. Devo’s brother passed away at a tender age. She recalled an incident when her brother was playing with his friends, wherein one of the boys fell from his bicycle. She revealed how other boys blamed her brother for hurting the boy. Families got involved and Devo’s brother was slapped by the boy’s aunty.
