Bigg Boss 18 took an ugly turn as contestant Digvijay Singh Rathee was caught body-shaming wildcard entrant Yamini Malhotra by comparing her to a haathi (elephant). Fans were equally disappointed with Karan Veer Mehra, who chose to laugh and stay silent instead of defending Yamini, exposing his hypocrisy.

Digvijay Singh Rathee compares Yamini Malhotra to Haathi in Bigg Boss 18

The shocking incident occurred during a conversation when Yamini Malhotra pointed out an elephant statue painting behind Digvijay Singh Rathee. He said, “Time God, peeche haathi bhi hai.” Instead of responding appropriately, Digvijay remarked, “Saamne bhi haathi hai,” implying Yamini herself was the elephant. Confused and startled, Yamini asked, “Kya?” but Digvijay doubled down, repeating, “Peeche bhi haathi hai, saamne bhi haathi hai.”

Visibly hurt, Yamini said, “Aise mat bolo, audience kya bolegi meri?” Karan Veer, who was part of the conversation, merely smiled and kept quiet. Fans, however, were quick to point out Karanveer’s hypocrisy. He has previously positioned himself as an advocate for women’s respect.

Yamini tried to lighten the situation and added humour to her defence. She said, “Main tumhe raja (Time God) bana rahi hoon, aur tum mujhe haathi bana rahe ho.” But the damage was done, and viewers were left appalled by Digvijay’s low-class behaviour and Karan Veer’s silent approval.

Social media erupted with fans slamming both contestants. While Digvijay was called out for his offensive remark, Karanveer faced backlash for his hypocrisy. Many viewers demanded accountability and questioned how Karanveer could laugh at such a derogatory comment after advocating for women’s respect just days earlier.

Yamini’s grace under pressure has earned her admiration. But the incident has further exposed the double standards and toxic behaviour of some housemates.
