‘Bigg Boss 13’: Arti Singh opens up about her depression; says, “I didn’t get work for 2 years”

‘Bigg Boss’ is known as the most controversial show due to its humongous fights and tiffs that go on for weeks in the house. But during their stints in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, the contestants tend to unfold their vulnerable sides as well. Recently, actress Arti Singh opened up about her phase of depression and how her mother was her strength in coming out of it.

Actor and comedian Krushna Abhishek’s sister Arti Singh did not have a good weekend at the ‘Bigg Boss’ house as Salman Khan was totally disappointed with her on the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode that was aired on October 5.

Earlier the actress had revealed that she is finding it difficult to show her personality and that she had suffered from depression in the past. Arti’s team had posted a video on her Instagram from the moment when she was confessing about her suffering from depression. Arti said that she worked on some really big shows and she was also called one of the best actors too. But post that she did not have work for 2 long years, not even a Navratri event. She said that due to this she panicked and became a victim of depression.

Arti said that she used to call her family in the middle of the night due to this. She even revealed that she lost out on a very nice marriage proposal only because of her depression. She questioned why it is looked upon as a taboo. She said, “Can’t a person be unhappy for a certain period of time?”

Then Arti Singh went on to reveal that her strength in coming out of the depression was her mother. She opened up that her mother sacrificed her life for Arti, she said, “Soon after Krushna (Abhishek, brother) was born, my mother conceived me. Everyone asked her to abort the baby but she decided to give me birth despite being aware of the complications as she suffered from cancer.”
