In one of the recent episodes of ‘Bigg Boss 14’, Jaan Kumar Sanu had a verbal spat with his fellow contestant Nikki Tamboli. Jaan told her that he gets irked whenever she talks with Rahul Vaidya in Marathi. Following which, his comments took a political turn when Shiv Sena and MNS leaders threatened to stop the show’s shoot if Jaan and the channel don’t issue an apology within 24 hours.

Now celebrated singer Kumar Sanu has reacted to the entire fiasco caused by his son Jaan’s comment inside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house.

Following the objections raised by Shiv Sena and MNS leaders, both Colors channel and Jaan issued an apology. Now in a video uploaded on Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana’s Facebook page, Kumar Sanu has apologised for his son’s comments. Kumar also said that he doesn’t know what kind of upbringing Jaan’s mother has given him.

Distancing himself from Jaan’s comments on Marathi language, Kumar said, “I heard that my son, Jaan, said something very wrong that never crossed my mind or could have crossed my mind in these 41 years. Maharashtra, Mumbai and Mumba devi blessed me and gave me name, fame and everything else. I can never think such things about that same Mumba devi and Maharashtra. I love and respect all languages of India. I have sung songs in different languages.”

For the unversed, Kumar had separated from his first wife Rita Bhattacharya, when their son Jaan was just a kid. In the video, Kumar further added, “I have not been living with them for 27 years. I don’t know what kind of upbringing his mother has given them. It was really wrong of him to speak like that. Anyone would have gotten offended by the same. As a father, I would like to apologise for his actions. I have always respected Balasaheb Thackeray and the party. I hope they accept my apology.”
