Bigg Boss 18: Shilpa Shirodkar admits to not getting work before saying yes to the Salman Khan show; says, “I’m an actor by profession…”

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shirodkar – who has starred in films such as Gopi Kishan, Kishen Kanhaiya, Hum, Khuda Gawah, and Gaja Gamini, is currently part of the Salman Khan-hosted controversial reality show Bigg Boss 18. The actress – before entering the house, revealed the real reason behind why she decided to say yes to the show. Read on to know what she said.

Shilpa Shirodkar on saying yes to Bigg Boss 18

While recently interacting with Indian Express, Shilpa Shirodkar revealed that she was actively searching for work before entering the Bigg Boss 18 house but faced multiple rejections. Talking about the reason behind why she said yes to the Salman Khan-hosted show, Shilpa stated, “Honestly, I’m a big fan of Bigg Boss. My daughter always told me I should participate, and now that she’s 20, it felt like the right time. I was trying to look for work and connect with people, but everybody kept telling me there was no work. I am taking this up because I am an actor by profession, it’s my job, so what better platform than this for me?”

Shilpa continued, “I’m an actor by profession, and this is my job. When traditional acting roles weren’t coming my way, I thought, why not Bigg Boss? It’s a platform that can open doors.”

Shilpa: For me, BB is also work

Shilpa – the sister of actress Namrata Shirodkar and sister-in-law to superstar Mahesh Babu, further noted, “I have always said that yes I was looking for work before Bigg Boss, but nobody answers your phone and if they do, they diplomatically say that nothing is happening as of now in the industry. They shall call back when there is an opportunity, this has happened with me of late. I am an actor, I want to work. For me, Bigg Boss is also work. People look at it differently, but it’s a job. My goal to do this is to get more work afterwards, I am not being fake or diplomatic here, I was seeking work, but people were not ready to even meet me.”
