Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Ashnoor Kaur, who had been preparing for their CBSE 12th board examinations, expresses relief after the government announced cancellations. The actor thanked the government for taking the decision to ensure everyone’s safety as India grapples with the second wave of the COVID 19 pandemic. Ashnoor spoke to TOI and said that she is now feeling relieved and her anxiety has gone. “To be honest, it feels really nice and amazing,” she said.
Ashnoor Kaur told the leading daily, “I just finished with all the calls to my friends and cousins who are in CBSE. We all kind of just celebrated over calls that the exam got over because you know more than the fear of exams it was the uncertainty that was killing us. We have some clarity now and you know that mental pressure and the anxiety are gone. We were constantly thinking ki exams honge yah nahi honge (will the exams be held or not)… Should we study or not.” Ashnoor has been someone who is a hardworking student and has been balancing work and studies for many years now.
CBSE and CISE exams which were to be held this month have been cancelled for Class 12. In a statement, GoI said, “In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class XII Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of class XII students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.” The decision was taken after PM Modi attended a decisive meeting about it on Tuesday evening.
