Dalljiet Kaur sues estranged husband Nikhil Patel for tearing her wedding saree to make a sofa cover- Report

Recently, there were reports that actor Dalljiet Kaur had torn the saree from her wedding trousseau that was packed by her mother before leaving India with Patel. She gave it to the carpenter who cut it into pieces to create a sofa cover for the home she shared with her estranged husband Nikhil Patel. Though she believes in traditions and was attached to her saree, she let it go as the sofa was a “shrine to their love”. Now, the latest reports suggest that Dalljiet Kaur has taken legal action against her husband Nikhil Patel.

As per the recent report in Times Now, the source said, “One of the sarees Dalljiet had in her trousseau, Nikhil said that they would make a cover out of it for their furniture. Hence, she tore her saree and got it stitched for a sofa.” Moreover, Dalljiet demanded to return the sofa as it was made out of her mother’s gifted saree. Nikhil then tore the cover and stored some pieces of it in the storage room. In fact, all her belongings have been moved to the storage place.

The source further tells us, “It’s embarrassing how this man is flaunting his cruelty and being proud of it. She had torn her saree to become a part of his life forever. It had a lot of emotional value to it as it was a saree given to her by her mother on her wedding day. In fact, the cloth that Nikhil’s sister tied during the gathbandhan, they had turned that as well into a lamp shade. It was supposed to be memory for life. Instead of giving her the sofas, Nikhil Patel chose to rip off Dalljiet Kaur’s saree in shreds.“
