Disha Vakani is one of the most loved actresses in the industry. It was recently reported that Disha Vakani, who is popularly known for playing the role of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, suffered from throat cancer. The report stated that Disha Vakani had suffered throat cancer because of her character Dayaben’s peculiar voice in the show. Fans have been worried for the actress. As many are aware, Disha has been missing from the show due to personal reasons. And the makers of the show are still looking for her replacement.

Now, Disha’s brother Mayur Vakani, who plays Sundar in TMKOC, rubbished these reports. The actor assured fans that his sister is fine and that there’s no truth to the rumours.

Speaking with ETimes TV, Mayur said, “Aise bahut saare afwaayein aate rehte hai ismein koi sacchayi nahi hai (these kind of rumours keep doing the rounds in the media and there is no truth to it). She is hale and hearty and nothing of this is true. Everyday we get to hear baseless rumours about her but fans should not believe any of these.”

Apart from Mayur, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who is known for playing the role of Mrs Roshan in the show, also dismissed these reports. She said, “I am in touch with Disha on and off and I don’t think this is true. Agar aisa kuch hota toh pata chalta. I spoke to her towards the end of August because we both stay in the same vicinity. We spoke about our daughter’s Kathak classes, she sounded absolutely fine. I think these are just rumours.”

Disha took a break from the show in 2017 due to her pregnancy and welcomed a baby girl in the same year. Earlier this year, Disha gave birth to a baby boy.
