Divya Bhatnagar’s brother reveals he is planning to file case against her estranged husband Gagan

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actress Divya Bhatnagar passed away on December 7. The 34-year-old actress had contracted Coronavirus and she was put on a ventilator when her condition worsened. The actress’ death has devastated her family and friends.

Divya’s mother had accused her husband Gagan of being a fraud. We even saw actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee coming out and making shocking revelations about Gagan. Devoleena accused Gagan of beating and torturing Divya post marriage. Now Divya’s brother Devashish has said that he is planning to file a domestic violence case against Gagan.

Devashish in an interview with Times of India revealed that Gagan used to torture his sister mentally and physically. Devashish also said that he is planning to file a case against Gagan.

“Gagan started torturing Divya physically and mentally soon after their marriage. She had written a note on November 7, in which she had stated that Gagan tortures and abuses her. We found the note in her cupboard yesterday. She had also approached the police and filed an NC on November 16 against him, following an episode of domestic abuse. I had told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her during her hospitalisation,” the late actress’ brother told TOI.

Previously, reacting to his mother-in-law’s allegations of being a fraud, Gagan had refuted them. Gagan had also claimed that Divya and he were a happy couple. Gagan had shared a video in which he had said, “False news about me is being circulated in the media. The truth is I was out of town for my work. Divya’s friend ensured that she was admitted to the hospital. She couldn’t contact me as my number was not reachable. COVID-19 is not caused by mental pressure or stress. It doesn’t matter what Divya’s mother thinks. I want to ask where were her family members in the last six years? Her mother was against our marriage for a long time. We were in a live-in relationship for five years and then we got married in December 2019. We are a happy couple.”

Divya breathed her last on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest. The actress had featured in shows like ‘Udaan’, ‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piyaa Morre’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Vish’. She was last seen in Sony SAB’s ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’.
