In a tragic turn of events, television actress Dolly Sohi and her sister Amandeep Sohi have passed away. On Friday, March 8, it was reported that the Jhanak actress died just hours after it was reported that her sister Amandeep died. Dolly was battling with cervical cancer while Amandeep died after suffering from jaundice.

Her family also issued a statement informing about the actor’s death that read, “Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon. Will share further details.”

Dolly and Amandeep’s family issued a statement to Indian Express and shared, “We are devastated. Dolly passed away around 4am this morning.” Their brother, Manu Sohi further said, “Both Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday and now Dolly.”

As news about the sisters’ untimely demise surfaced, Dolly’s last post on her social media went viral on the internet. While the actress did not give context to the post, she requested everyone to pray for her. Her last Instagram post, which was shared on February 20, read, “Prayer – The world’s greatest wireless connection.. Works like miracle, so please I need your prayers.”

The Sohi sisters were popular on television. Amandeep was seen in shows like Badtameez Dil. Dolly acted in multiple daily soaps including Bhabhi, Kalash, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and Khoob Ladi Mardaani Jhansi Ki Rani. Her last on-screen appearance was in Jhanak. She quit the show for her cancer treatment.

On the personal front, Dolly was previously married to Avneet Dhanowa, an NRI residing in Canada. Their marriage ended in 2015 due to compatibility issues. She is survived by her daughter, Amelie.
