Ekta Kapoor turns nostalgic as she announces return of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

Television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was one of the most popular and longest running shows. Ekta Kapoor, on Tuesday announced the return of the show on television. Starting this Wednesday (February 16), the Smriti Irani starrer daily soap will now air every day at 5 pm on Star Plus. Ekta turned nostalgic as she shared the good news with her fans on social media.

She shared a clip from the title song of the show and wrote, “Is promo ki ek jhalak dekh kar hi saari puraani yaadein tazaa ho gayi. Today, as I look back, I recall every memory, every moment that made this show a most loved one! Usi pyaar ke saath judiye is safar se dobaara. Budhvaar se, harr roz, shaam 5 baje, sirf StarPlus par.”

From fans to celebrities, everyone is excited about the re-run of the show. Ritu Chaudhary, who played Tulsi-Mihir’s daughter Shobha, commented, “Oh my lordddd!! About time! So many beautiful memories!.” Prachee Shah who played Pooja Hemant Virani wrote, “Oh wow! Cherished memories”.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was the story of Tulsi (Smriti Irani) who marries a rich boy Mihir (Amar Upadhyay). She goes through lots of obstacles, politics in family and a lot more. It showed many generation leaps and often it was also criticised for the content yet it was everyone’s favourite show.

It aired on July 3, 2000, and continued to run for eight long years, with around 1,800 episodes.
