Elvish Yadav on Munawar Faruqui egg-pelting incident
On Friday, Elvish during a pap interaction, said, “Yeh incident mere saath nahi hua but yeh bhi galat hai. Main nahi bolunga ki bahut achha kara, main troll nahi karunga. Main bas yahi bolunga ki insaan akele padh jata hai aise situation mein. Itne saare log tumpe jo bhi kar rahe hai (I haven’t experienced such an incident, but it’s definitely wrong. I won’t justify it or engage in trolling. I’ll highlight that people can feel isolated in such situations, regardless of what others are doing to them).”
What happened with Munawar Faruqui?
On the eve of Eid, Munawar visited a sweets shop in Mohammad Ali Road with his friends. At that time, a neighbouring restaurant owner invited him and he vehemently refused. This left the owner furious after which he started pelting eggs and stones and hurled abuses, After the incident was reported, police had booked 7 people.
After the glimpse of incident went viral, Munawar issued a clarification on what happened on April 10 in an instagram live session. He said, “There was a fight between two shopkeepers and seeing them fight, I lost my cool too. Who would beat someone of their own? I am fine, no egg was thrown at me. One of the uncles and a police officer got hit by an egg. There is a lot of jealousy between these shopkeepers, but if someone is jealous of his own kind then they are not competitors (sic).”
Meanwhile, on Eid, Munawar shared a teaser of his upcoming song, First Copy. Last month, Munawar was detained in Mumbai following a raid on a hookah bar. He was let off after a case was lodged.
