EXCLUSIVE: Barun Sobti: There was a time when I wanted to give up the struggle of doing good work but my wife was discouraging

Actor Barun Sobti featured in the film titled 200 Halla Ho that released on August 20, 2021. The film was released in Hindi and Marathi languages on the streaming platform Zee5. The film is based on an incident that had taken place in Nagpur, back in 2004. The movie shows Barun Sobti essaying the role of a law-abiding and rightful lawyer. In an exclusive chat with us, Barun Sobti opened up about the time when he wanted to give up the struggle of doing good work. He revealed his wife was discouraging. 

When the actor was asked who is that one person who was his strength always, Barun mentioned it’s his wife Pashmeen Manchanda. Furthermore, Barun opened up about the time when he was thinking about giving up the whole struggle of doing only good work that resonates with his sense of understanding. Sobti said, “She (Pashmeen Manchanda) was very discouraging about it.” The actor added, “So yeah, she has been my ray of hope.”

Talking about what led to the thought of giving up the struggle of doing only good work, Barun Sobti shared, “This is a very long time ago.” He added, “Thought toh I am sure ki agar koi bolta hai ki Kisi ke dimaag mein nahi aata hai, toh, I think that person is either lying or is extremely strong. (I am sure that if anyone says that the thought does not cross their mind, I think that person is either lying or is extremely strong.)” 

Barun Sobti continued, “Maybe, I am not that strong. To be honest, I have not come across a human being like that. I think I have shown an enormous amount of strength and restraint with respect to the kind of work and weight I show. But, with me also there did come a time, where I was like, ‘I should do whatever comes and start making money kind of a thing.”

When asked if he takes the pressure of living up to his expectations in terms of work, the actor refused. He said that he doesn’t.
