EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Winget breaks silence on her divorce with Karan Singh Grover: I was lost, I went numb

Jennifer Winget and Karan Singh Grover were one of the most loved couples in the industry. After dating for a few years, they tied the knot in April 2012. The couple’s marriage didn’t last long as they filed for divorce in 2014. Now, in the third season of Her Story, Jennifer Winget opened up about her divorce with Karan Singh Grover. The actress talked about how she didn’t blame her ex-husband for the separation and took equal responsibility of the same.

Talking about her divorce with Karan, Jennifer said, “I think both of us were not ready. It’s not just him (Karan Singh Grover) or its not just me, both of us weren’t ready to take that step. We had been friends for so long. We were like a house on fire every time we met. But I think it was an unfortunate timing I guess.”

Jennifer also talked about dealing with the divorce and how she cut out people from her list. The actress said, “I was so lost and confused that I didn’t know what to tell people or how to process that. I remember my friends used to force me to go out and I’m like I don’t want to go.”

She added, “So one day I went out and I’m like in a club.. not a club really but it was a restaurant which was packed and you know the minute I enter, a lot of friends and people from the industry were there and they all look at me with those sad puppy eyes which I’m very thankful and respectful for their wishes and blessings and all of that but whenever I used to go out, I used to see people looking at me with those sad, sympathetic eyes like ‘aare bichari yaar’ and it used to piss me off even more. That’s why I would not go out. I understand you’re feeling for me, it’s great but I don’t need that right now. Right now I’m not ready to deal with you because I’m dealing with me. So that’s why I cut off from people and once I was done with it, then I am so done with it.”

Jennifer and Karan started dating after they met on the sets of the popular TV show ‘Dill Mill Gayye’. The actress played the role of Dr Riddhima Gupta, while Karan played Dr Armaan Malik. After Karan and Jennifer called it quits, Karan got married to Bipasha Basu in 2016.
