EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Winget shares how her family reacted to her divorce: Took us 5 years to discuss it, there were tears

Jennifer Winget and her sweet bond with Karan Singh Grover was much loved and adored. After dating for a few years, they went on to get married in April 2012. In 2014, Jennifer and Karan went separate ways and got divorced. Jennifer Winget, who was the first guest on the third season of Bollywood Bubble’s Her Story broke her silence on her divorce with Karan Singh Grover. The actress shared how she was lost and numb.

In an exclusive interview with us, Winget spoke about dealing with her divorce and how she cut people out from her life during that phase. Now, the actress revealed how her parents dealt with the news of her divorce. She opened up about how her family reacted to her divorce with Karan Singh Grover.

Speaking up about how her parents dealt with her divorce, Jennifer said, “Oh they’re amazing. They are so amazing.” The actress added, “I think you know that time, everything happened so suddenly, even they didn’t know how to deal with it.”

She continued, “So, it was in 2020, when the lockdown happened and my father is a man of few words right, he doesn’t speak too much. So, 2020, we went to Goa. So the whole family, we were living in Goa for about two months. There was this one night, me, my dad and my mom, we got drunk and we spoke our hearts out.”

Jennifer shared, “It took us five years to speak about that period of my life. And when we spoke, there was anger, there were years, there was happiness, there was pain and everything came out. So, how they dealt with it, I wouldn’t know. Because, I was dealing with myself. I really don’t know. Because, I was like, I really don’t want anyone right now. And they were so sweet.”

Talking about her parents further, Winget said, “They did not try to like kind of invade my privacy. Like my mom would check on me and she would be like ‘Tu call nahi karti’. So, I honestly don’t know how they dealt with it, because, I was dealing with it. But, now that I spoke to them after five years, they were heartbroken.”
