Mohit Malik has carved his niche as a successful actor in the television industry, with his performances and skills. The actor made his TV debut with the 2005 show Miilee and went on to feature in several roles ever since. We recently sat down with the Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 contestant for a candid conversation.
In an exclusive interview with us, Mohit Malik recalled the phase in his career as an actor where he lacked confidence to accept acting as his profession. He revealed it took him 10 years to accept as his profession. The actor opened up about it at length.
Mohit told Bollywood Bubble, “To be very frank, honestly I’m telling you. Kitni baar aisa hua tha. You know, 2016 tak, aisa hota tha ki, main kahin bhi jaata tha na, toh form mein likha hota hai, occupation kya hoti hai, toh actor likhne se mujhe kuch hota tha (To be very frank, honestly I’m telling you. There were so many times. In 2016, it was such, wherever I went, when they asked me to fill a form, mention my occupation, I felt weird to write ‘Actor’).”

He added, “I couldn’t write ‘Actor’. I don’t know why. I can write anything anything else, like artist or something like that. But you know, I cannot write Actor. Woh kabhi ek aata nahi tha andar se (That one thing never came from within me).”
Malik continued, “Till, I think 2016. Uske baad (After that), you know, whatever happened in my life, a lot of unlearning happened, a lot of learning happened. Learning and unlearning is a process of our craft, of acting. And I think, uske baad mujhe confidence aata ki (after that, I gained the confidence), ‘Yes, this is what I love’ and ‘This is it’. This is something I was looking for so many years.”
