EXCLUSIVE: Had Karan not sold off Nisha’s jewels, she wouldn’t have had to beg for alimony: Friend Munisha Khatwani reveals it all

Television couple Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal have been married for nine years and they have known each other for 14 years. They also have a son. We were shocked when we heard the news of Nisha filing a case of domestic violence against Karan. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor was arrested based on the complaint lodged by Nisha on May 31. He was later granted bail.

We spoke to Karan and Nisha’s good friend actor and astrologer, Munisha Khatwani and she also made some shocking revelations about Karan. She also spoke about Karan’s extramarital affair, beating Nisha since 2014 and she even said that he sold Nisha’s jewelry.

Karan alleged that Nisha asked for huge alimony. When we asked Munisha Nisha’s side, she said, “Nisha told Karan, ‘I will earn, but you are my dependency for the child’. She said, ‘Don’t give me, but give to my child’. She didn’t ask one thing for herself. This is a fact. I know her lawyer’s draft. There is nothing for herself, it’s all for her child. She asked the maintenance for her son. When you are talking about “huge amount”, she is not asking him for crores or lakhs in a month. If you are not willing to own up to the responsibility of your child, I don’t think that speaks a lot of you as a father.”

In an interview with us, Nisha told that she gave away her jewelry to Karan and he apparently also sold them. On this Munisha said, “I have advised her against not doing it many times in the past. Because they were in such dire straits financially and Karan also needed the money as they had EMIs and all, Nisha always came to rescue. It’s almost a crore plus jewelry gone maybe or around that figure. I don’t have the exact figure. Today, if she had that, her security would have been so different. She would have been just able to walk out of the situation without begging him for any money or alimony. I think after what he has done with her, that’s the least Karan owes her. She has been with him for 14 years, she is the mother of his child, that’s the least he can give her- that peace of mind and a slight sense of security.”

Karan also alleged that Nisha tried to keep away the child from him. To which Munisha said, “This is a very horrible allegation. How can she stop? Everything is in his control. Her finances are directly going to him. What control will she have?”
