TV star Munmun Dutta has been in news for her ongoing case, following outrage over a YouTube video she had uploaded a few months ago. Without knowing the actual meaning of a term, Munmun had used it in the video, only to realise that it was a casteist slur. A case was filed against the TV actress Munmun Dutta and recent reports suggested that she was arrested by the police.
When we spoke to Munmun Dutta, she nulls all those rumours and shares, “Contrary to rumours claiming that I was “arrested”, I want to clarify that I went in for a regular interrogation with the police officials. I was NOT ARRESTED. In fact, I had received the interim bail from the Court already on Friday before I went in for the interrogation.”
Adding that she is currently “on sets shooting for her show”, she further adds, “The officials at Hansi Police Station spoke to me for two and half hours about the case and noted down all important details. They were extremely polite and well behaved. I have been co-operating with the police and will continue to do so.”

But several portals and publications have been posting stories about her alleged “arrest” that has left Munmun shocked. “I am deeply upset with the stories that are being spun around the case, just for headlines. At the same time, I would request media professionals to not create false narratives around the case. The clickbait headlines and thumbnails being used by several portals are deeply disturbing and unethical, to say the least,” she signed off.
Just like Munmun, TV star Yuvika Chaudhary was also in news for a similar case filed against her. She, too, had been called in for an interrogation and she had obliged. Much like that, it is not obvious that Munmun also went in for regular questioning and co-operated with the police officials. Guess all the rumours can now be finally put to rest!
