EXCLUSIVE: Nia Sharma on her seductress image onscreen: I like playing such parts

Actor Nia Sharma is truly a diva! No matter how much she is being considered bold, Nia is every bit beautiful. Nia who started her acting career with Ek Hazaron Main Meri Behna Hai is one of the most popular stars in the telly world. Over time, Nia changed her girl-next-door image and has become a seductress. Speaking about her seductress image onscreen in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nia Sharma reveals she likes playing such parts.

Nia says, “On the contrary, I would say I’m glad, the kind of projects they offer me, I get chosen for all the glam roles but I don’t think it’s bad because at the same time I’ve just done a music video where they didn’t need me to be that seductress or anything it’s just somebody who’s a pretty looking from a small town and dressed in a saree, carrying off that well but nobody has actually not said it. This being the seductress, I like playing such things I don’t mind, that damsel and distress thing you can play it at any other day.”

“Am I bored of it? Very much, do I want to play it again? Uh… okay. Everything comes in handy and I’ve done Jamai Raja for two years, Ek Hazaron Main Meri Behna Hai, I’ve played that girl. Now you can move on from there and you can just bask in the glory of whatever you’re getting in,” the Jamai Raja actor added.

Talking about breaking that image from EHMMBH, Nia said, “That image breaking has never been there because I was portraying a character, I was a 21-year-old and I was very fresh. People didn’t know me but there was always this Nia who was always about dressing up. Dheere Dheere, I just started earning money, I started investing in myself, started bringing myself into a light which I like portraying myself into a life which portrayed me as a girl as Nia. I just came out of the shell, nothing to do with my character or anything.”

“We are always different people from what we play so not that I’m not innocent anymore, I’m not corrupt but I have just grown from there. We evolved. People really write in my comments that you were a sweet girl, but now you’re no more the same. Just because my makeup is better today, my hair is better today, and I dress up better today, doesn’t mean I have become corrupt. I like to dress up better, it’s fine. Aap mujhe Ek Hazaron mein makeup dekhlo mujhe makeup bhi karne nahi aata tha. Today, I just know, that doesn’t make me corrupt, it doesn’t make me any less relatable, I’m still the same girl,” Nia Sharma further told us.
