EXCLUSIVE: Nia Sharma reveals how she lost on films because of her TV background: They said I’m not ready

Nia Sharma is one of the boldest and gorgeous actors in the Telly world. She is a self-made star who is known for her bold and sartorial fashion choices. The actress has carved a niche for herself and is one of the popular stars on Indian Television.

But Nia Sharma often finds herself at the receiving end of criticism due to her portrayal on social media. Netizens bash her mercilessly for her the same. But Nia is absolutely unfazed about it. She prefers to do things that make her happy.

During a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble’s Her Story, Nia talks about her struggles on how people have often judged her and how she lost movies because of her TV background.

Speaking about losing roles in movies all thanks to her TV background Nia said, “I never entertained those silly meetings. Actually, I happened to be in one. They called me to their office and they wanted to give me a role which I wouldn’t take otherwise.  It was a very small role. For that too you know the kind of things I got to hear “You’re not ready for a film” ” Ah Really” “You’re not ready for this” but you know all these things do come. and I am sure that the people that have made it to films. I hear for their interview they have the same things to say. So it hasn’t been easy, it’s not been easy.”

Further adding: “It’s not easy for a TV actor as when you come from the small screen you are looked at a certain way. Suppose if I am very famous then too exposed a face they want a fresh face. If not famous then you didn’t make it anywhere. What am I supposed to do I have become famous popular everything I’ve done everything for myself for certain sections of those people for bigger series or everything I must be an overexposed face. I can’t help it I at least I am earning a lot of money here man, at least let me live my life, you know. So for me, it is enough. I am very clear and very happy that people with respect give us work collabs and distance.  It’s been a nice journey for somebody who is not even trying into the other field. I haven’t. Even if I have intentions you tell me you think come on who are we kidding so I just don’t want to even start that topic and it’s okay.”

“Never had dreams, how do I just be doing a show and then thinking about oh I want to see myself on a 75 mm screen, No I never had those plans so I never thought about in that direction? How do I expect myself to be just unless I am just some bomb or just something so huge that I am picked up overnight? It does not happen so. The reality is something else. But what I have done to myself. How I turned my life around from nobody to somebody who is earning good today living her own life. I think I am very happy,” said Nia.
