Nisha Rawal accused her husband, actor Karan Mehra, of domestic violence. On Monday, she filed an FIR against Karan, in the Goregaon (Mumbai) police station and alleged that after an argument, Karan pushed her against a wall, and hurt her head. An FIR was registered against him under section 336 and 337 of IPC and Karan was arrested but he was released on bail today. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor has been married for nine years and they have a son Kavish.
We got in touch with Nisha to know more details of what actually happened yesterday. She said, “I and Karan are on the verge of separation. So, I was amicably trying to sort it out, like whatever has happened has happened, we have a child, now let’s think about his future. Every time I started a conversation with Karan, he starts abusing me. So, I had to fly my brother down. We both requested my rakhi brother Vicky, who came from Lucknow because we were comfortable talking in his presence. So, he came down and it has been four days. Vicky has been trying to sit down and amicably sort it out understanding mine and Karan’s part of stories. He was trying to talk to us separately and also together and Karan kept going back and forth on his word on everything that he spoke. He was just behaving in a nasty way. Ultimately, when nothing was working out, I lost my marbles. I told him, ‘You are not a good human being. This is not the way to behave. We are splitting up, that’s ok but we have a child’. It is not as simple as this. It has been so tough living with his man. I never spoke about this because we are actors and I care about the image. Today whatever is happening is not really good.”
She added, “Many people asked why I didn’t I spoke about it before. I was because I was working on my relationship. I have been in love with that guy. He cheated on me and got caught. I wasn’t cheating on him and was not prepared for the relationship to get over.”

Nisha further said, “Ultimately, when I tried talking to him about not taking responsibility for our child, then he got really irritated. Last night when I finally spoke with him, he was pretending he was exiting the room and I thought he was exiting the room. In a fit of rage, I stood up and started going as well thinking that he has gone out. When I went near the door, he actually took me by surprise. He caught my hair and bashed me into the edge of the wall and then he put his hand on my neck. I didn’t even know that I was hurt. After some time I saw the blood coming out and I realized what’s happening. By then, my brother had already come to save me. The door was a little bit open and outside the room, there was my mom, Vicky, my servant and they could hear what was happening. Then I called 100. I decided this is it and I have to speak for my child and this is not the way it should go.”
She said that after 2014 things got worse and she had given all proofs to the police.
