EXCLUSIVE: Nisha Rawal: I was detected with a depressive phase of bipolarity when I lost my child in 2014

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) fame actor Karan Mehra was arrested on Monday night and granted bail on Tuesday. The actor was taken into custody after his wife Nisha filed a case of domestic violence. The actress has accused her husband of constant abuse and having an extramarital affair. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Nisha Rawal finally broke her silence on the ugly spat she had with her husband. The Hastey Hastey actress also opened up about being detected with a depressive phase of bipolarity.

Nisha revealed that Karan behaved inhumanely even when she had lost their child in 2014. It was then when she was detected with a depressive phase of bipolarity because of all the trauma she had been through.

Off late, Karan in his various interviews has labelled Nisha as being a bipolar, aggressive, dominant woman, who is using up all their money. Commenting on his allegations, Nisha said, “I am being labelled. I was detected with a depressive phase of bipolarity. I am not going to deny that. This was in the year 2014 when I lost my child. I was five months pregnant. Karan was extremely bad and inhumane even during those times. He didn’t let me go to a doctor, a therapist or even work on my body because you know how it is for a woman. And yes that time I did go to a therapist. A friend helped me out. I went to the therapist and she told me ‘let’s do a test’. And that’s when they realise that I have been through immense trauma. And that’s the only time I was detected in 2014. You can check with my doctors. I don’t know how that legally works.”

She further recalled, “Last year, I had some anxiety pills. That was nothing related to bipolarity or anything. This was in August 2020. We are in June 2021. In a modern world when you talk about bipolarity or anxiety medicines in such a way it’s a shame. Its just talks about the kind of person you are. Not only he has spoken like that about me but also about my mother. What credibility does that man have? He is so thankless. My mother has dedicated her life. I don’t my dad or anybody to support me in these times. I have always been the man of the house. Even when we got married, I was the one who stood up and spoke to his parents about what needs to be done during the wedding. we have been together for 14 long years!”

Earlier, Nisha refrained from opening up about the trouble in her marriage hoping that she would resolve the issues with Karan. However, when things went out of hand, she chose to stand up for herself.

Karan and Nisha had met on the sets of her film Hastey Hastey. They tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their son Kavish Mehra in 2017.
