You may like her or may not like her, but you simply can’t ignore Rakhi Sawant. The actress-performer who clearly spells ‘entertainment’ in every possible way, turned heads with her latest track Dream Mein Entry which has already gone viral on the Internet. Previously, after her fun stint in Bigg Boss 14 that raised the show’s tempo and TRPs both, Rakhi has come out a changed person. Or maybe, thanks to BB14, her entire image today has undergone a huge makeover.
In this special interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rakhi talks about battling extreme poverty to running away from home, from being judged by everyone around to being sidelined by her own family, Rakhi has seen some of the worst days one could possibly think of. In fact, her father cut off all ties with her and she was not even invited for his funeral. In this emotional chat, Rakhi bares her soul.
Sharing how she never had a normal childhood like others and recalling her struggles Rakhi said, “Main apna bachpan kheli nahi hu. Why am I so bubbly now? It’s because I still have that child in me. Parents send their kids to garden to play, come back, do homework and then go to sleep. That life I haven’t seen. I entered the industry when I was very young because girls in my family would be married off at quite a young age. Had I stayed back I would have got married and my kids would be attending school right now. So I had just one chance to run away from home and come to Bollywood and live my life on my own terms. Today my father must be feeling proud of me. I run my own house because nobody knows how one survives after they lose their father or husband. If I had got married back then, and had kids, would I have been able to take care of my mother in the condition that she is in right now? My sister, who is a widow, would I have been able to look after her? No. Thanks to the almighty, I took this decision to leave my house and entered Bollywood and I have become what I am today.”

Revealing how her extended family hasn’t accepted her choices till date, the actress shared, “Till date, my family hasn’t accepted me or my choices. Even now they (extended family) don’t talk to my mother. They feel I left home so their daughters might also follow my footsteps. But it’s not like that. I have changed my destiny. And who said that the film industry is wrong? Not all girls can become doctor, nurse, air hostesses, pilot or police officer or a politician. Someone has to become an actress. So I have chosen this path and there’s nothing wrong in it. And my mom is happy. Had my father been alive, he would have seen how angel Salman Khan took care of my mother’s cancer treatment. Had I not been a part of this industry, hadn’t participated in Bigg Boss, my mom wouldn’t have been able to battle cancer.”
There was a point when even Rakhi’s mother was not on same page with her. The actress had then begged her mom to give her freedom and assured her that she will make her way into the industry on her sheer talent. She also revealed how even her father had stopped talking to her. “Back then my father had stopped talking to me. Now its been six years since he left. When he suffered a heart attack, nobody informed me. I wasn’t even invited for my dad’s funeral. Nobody thought of what I was going through when he died. He was my father. Saare zeher peekar main aage badhi hu (I have faced all kinds of adversity and still I chose to move forward). I am fulfilling my duties towards my mother, sister-brother. If I earn something I share. I am not that kind of girl who earns and spend all her money on herself. I have a family to take care of,” shared the former Bigg Boss contestant.
