Sai Ketan Rao on saying yes to Bigg Boss OTT 3
Talking about why he said yes to Bigg Boss OTT 3, Sai Ketan Rao said, “I think… I did TV shows till now and logon ko bohot pasand aaya. Maine joh characters play kiya, unhe bohot pasand aaya. But now, as a person – for me, thoda monotonous ho jaata hai. Main back-to-back agar kar raha hu kuch, it becomes monotonous for me. I want to do something different this time. Yeh mere liye bhi ek experiment hai aur joh log mujhe follow karte hai aur bharosa karte, unke liye bhi ek experiment hai. They will wonder what will Sai do in a reality show, what tasks will he do.”
Sai on typecasting in the TV industry
When asked about being typecast in the TV industry, Sai replied, “Fortunately, mere case mein aise typecast nahi hua. Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali mein I played a don, fir Chashni mein it was a cute guy-next-door character, then in Imlie it was a businessman and then a police officer. Toh maine alag alag type ke characters play kiya and har ek ka attribute alag hai. So I’m happy ki mere case mei nahi hua, but typecasting hota hai, thoda stereotyping hota hai. Isliye I have to do different different things. That’s why I want to do a reality show.”
Sai Ketan Rao on the dark side of the TV industry
Shedding light on the dark side of the television industry, Sai Ketan Rao says, “Firstly, as an actor, if you are working in the TV industry, fir aapko long hours karne hi padenge because there is a time crunch. The makers have to submit episodes kyuki waha telecast karna hai – toh you can’t do a lot on that. If a production house plans properly ki hum 15-20 episodes ke bank bana ke rakh denge fir unke actors pe zyada stress nahi girega.” He added that at times production houses cut corners to save a few bucks, however, he adds that they need to plan schedules.”
Sai on payment issues
Talking about payment delays, the actor reveals he’s never faced such a situation and hence cannot comment on it. However, he added in Hindi, “Not only in the TV industry, these things may be happening in all industries. Contract issues, payment issues, misbehaving… My advice – Whatever project you say yes to, first research the production house and then work with them. So that things work out fine.”
