EXCLUSIVE: I ran away from home, did a Rs 15000 job: Shehnaaz Gill opens up on her journey and struggle

Actor Shehnaaz Gill is one of the popular actors in the Television world. The actor shot to fame after she featured in the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 13 where fans really loved her chemistry with the late actor Sidharth Shukla. However, did you know that Shehnaaz ran away from her house at the age of 22 to become an actor? That’s right. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble and for the latest episode of Her Story, Shehnaaz revealed that she never got support from her family and hence, had to run away to achieve her goals.

When asked if she had support from her family, to which, Shehnaaz said that her family never supported her as there was no one from her family who is or wanted to get into the entertainment industry. However, she went to fulfil her dreams of becoming an actor regardless of anything as she listens to her heart. Shehnaaz then added, “Jaha meri baat aati hai na, jaha meri dreams ki baat aati hai toh mere liye koi mayne. Jab pyaar mohabat ki baat hai toh mere parents important hai. Kyuki mujhe prove karna tha ki iss industry mein main bohot kuch karna chahti hu. Toh abhi wo saare proud feel karte hai.” (When it comes to me or my dreams, nothing else matters to me; however, when it comes to love, I need my parents. But I ran away as I wanted to prove to them that I can do a lot in the entertainment industry. Now, they all feel proud of me.)”

When asked about fulfilling her dreams, to which the Honsla Rakh actor stated that she is very stubborn and if she is headstrong about one thing, she ensures to achieve it. When asked what did she try to achieve her dreams, she said, “Main toh bhag gayi”, (I ran away) adding that she ran away at the age of 22 and only returned home after becoming famous. She later added that after running away from home, she took up a job of Rs 15000 and stayed in a PG (Paying guest).

Shehnaaz also mentioned that she used to get calls from her parents but never received them and had put them on the blacklist until she achieved her goals.

Speaking about the struggles, “Kahi log milte hai, galat log milte hai toh kahi ache log milte hai, matlab experience hue hai mere, right wrong hote gaye. Par main andar se strong banti gayi badme maine experience kiya logon ka aur main aur aage badhti gayi. Maine bohot galtiya ki kyuki tum bohot innocent ho aur tumhe pata nahi hai, itni age nahi hai tumhari, tum galtiya karte ho par unn galtiyon se bohot kuch sikha,” (I met a lot of people, some were good and some were bad but had a different experience. During the course, I started becoming strong and went ahead in life. I made mistakes as you were innocent at that time but I learnt my lessons from those mistakes),” adding that she is very strong and extremely happy with whatever she has done so far.
