EXCLUSIVE: Sunil Nagar aka Bhishma Pitamah on facing financial crisis: Since last one-and-a-half-year I don’t have work and used all my savings

Actor Sunil Nagar, who played Bhishma Pitamah in Shree Krishna, is currently facing a financial crisis. He is currently not getting any work due to the Covid-19 pandemic and also he doesn’t have savings. He is currently staying in a rented flat in Mumbai and has no money to bear the basic expenses.

A photo of him with his bank details and urging people to help him financially is doing the rounds on social media. When we reached out to Sunil, he said, “I didn’t want to ask anyone for help but after looking at my condition, one of my friends who is a casting director suggested to put it in the circle. So, he shared my bank details so that people come forward to help.”

Sunil said that he is advised to have dental surgery by his doctor but as he has no money, he is not being able to do so. Currently, he is taking painkillers. He has been working in the industry for 25 years and worked in many TV shows and movies. But little did he knew that today he will be facing such a crisis. His last work was in December 2019 for a web series and due to the pandemic the shoot was stopped and since then he didn’t get any work due to the Covid-19 pandemic induced lockdown. “I have used all my savings in the last one-and-a-half-year,” said Nagar.

Nagar added that he is a trained singer and a few days back he got an offer to sing at a restaurant in Matheran where they were also taking care of his day-to-day expenses but then the lockdown was announced and the restaurant was shut down.

Nagar has also reached out to CINTAA and he told them about his financial crunch. He said, “They have also ensured help as I have submitted all the documents. But the procedure will take time. Let’s see what happens.”

Meanwhile, after the picture of him seeking help started getting circulated, he is getting financial help from his fans and well-wishers, and currently, he is managing through the funds that he has got. He hopes to get through the crisis soon.

Sunil Nagar has worked in shows like Om Namah Shivay, Shree Ganesh, and Qubool Hai to name a few.
