EXCLUSIVE: Yeh Hai Chahatein’s Aishwarya Sakhuja: My character is sidelined; have no say in it

Aishwarya Sakhuja as Ahaana in Yeh Hai Chahatein had been garnering a lot of positive response. The actress played the main antagonist on the show. However, since the last few months, her character seems to have been missing, as per fans. We reached out to the actress to understand how has it been playing Ahaana and if she resonates with fans who feel her character has been sidelined. The actress agreed and said that while she definitely feels the same, she has no say in it.

“Ahaana was always the main antagonist, but yes, she has been missing in action. But that is a creative call taken and I have no say in it. I have no idea why this has happened. What can I say? It is for the creatives to decide,” Aishwarya told Bollywood Bubble and added, “It has been sidelined, but what can I say. I am just an actor, I am not a writer. I don’t come up with stories. As an actor, I can only be true to my craft and to the scenes written for me. Rest it is for the creatives to decide.”

Speaking about her style on the show which received a warm welcome, Aishwarya asserted, “Ahaana’s style did get immensely popular and I do give the credit to the stylist because she allowed me to be a part of the process of styling her. She was very receptive and open and she made it a lot easier for me to bring out Ahaana as a stylish woman. The best compliment that I have received is from my team itself. I have a lot of people coming up and asking me where I get these from.”

Yeh Hai Chahatein stars Sargun Kaur Luthra and Abrar Qazi in the lead roles.
