Fahmaan Khan recalls his ugly casting couch experience

The Indian showbiz is known for its glitz and glamour. That is also one of its biggest appealing points. However, there are certain dark sides to it as well. Casting couch is one of those and many actors have opened up on their experience with the same. Now, actor Fahmaan Khan recently recalled his ugly casting couch experience.

Fahmaan Khan on his initial years in industry

Fahmaan became a household name with the show Imlie. However, he has been a part of the showbiz for about a decade now. Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor recalled the time he lived with 17 people in a house in Mumbai. Not only that, he remembered the financial struggles as well as being dropped from projects. He also revealed rejecting the show Ishq Subhan Allah and regretting it.

Fahmaan on his modelling days

Fahmaan revisited his initial modelling days and even meeting people who tried to be inappropriate with him. He shared, “I’ve done modelling in my life… I’ve been through with designers, people who are like this. I know people who are very open about it (their sexuality) and very cool about it. I also have come across people who are cheesy and they make you uncomfortable,” he shares.

Fahmaan’s casting couch experience

The actor recalled meeting a casting director once who was naming popular actors and hinting at their casting couch experiences. “I understood what he wanted. So I asked him at the end, ‘Tell me what you want very clearly’. He told me and I said, ‘Ok, thank you. I respect you and respect that you’ve been so blunt but I’m not that kind of person’. I started walking out and that person immediately came from behind and grabbed me. He hugged me in a very uncomfortable way. So I pushed him. He said he called the cops on me. I told him it’ll take 15 minutes for the cops to come here and in the next 15 minutes, I’ll kick the shit out of you, if you touch me again.”

However, Fahmaan defended the actual people working in the industry. He called these predators “the outer circle “. He said, “These are not the actual people who are working in this industry, who are doing well in this industry. The inner circle is quite professional.”

Work wise, Fahmaan became quite successful with his show Imlie. It was during the show only that the rumours of a relationship between Fahmaan Khan and his co-star Sumbul Touqeer started doing rounds. Currently, the actor is seen in the Colors’ show Pyar Ke Saat Vachan Dharampatnii.
