‘Gangs Of Filmistan’: Producer Preeti Simoes refutes Shilpa Shinde’s allegations; asks, “Why will I pay an actor and not show her?”

Actress Shilpa Shinde was all set to make her comeback on the small screen with ‘Gangs of Filmistan’ after two years gap. However even before the show went on-air, Shilpa expressed her displeasure over being sidelined in the show. She has alleged that the makers lied to her about Sunil Grover not being a part of the show.

Shilpa even claimed that the makers are flouting shooting guidelines. Now refuting the actress’ allegations is none other than Preeti Simoes who is one of the producers of ‘Gangs of Filmistan’. Read on to know what she has to say about Shilpa’s claims.

Preeti while speaking to Times of India (TOI), has clearly said that her team is abiding by the shooting guidelines and that there seems to be some sort of misunderstanding with Shilpa. Reacting on Shilpa’s allegations of flouting guidelines, Preeti told TOI, “Shilpa and Sunil Gover’s chemistry on screen was so brilliant in our last web show during the IPL and it was so appreciated by the audience that we thought that it would be great to repeat the pairing. We know it is a very large group even though many of us are working with limited people and many people are multitasking. From a production point of view tour channel point of view with such limited resources, we can’t take a chance of anyone falling sick. Literally the entire system will collapse. Earlier we had five people to write a script, now we have to do it with only two people. Because we have to actually cut down the number of people on the sets. It is a big set in Filmistan and in the heart of Mumbai so anyone can come and check us at any point of time. There is an audit team which sits and monitors all the protocols and the SOP that happen on sets.”

Preeti even said that there are doctor and ambulance on the sets and hence Shilpa’s allegations are baseless. She even said that Shilpa o=not once shared any of her apprehensions with her or the team. Commenting on Shilpa’s accusations of Sunil Grover being given more prominences, Preeti told the daily, “When we were casting Shilpa Shinde was the first name who was finalized for the show Sunil was brought on board very later. Siddharth and Shilpa were the first to people who we spoke to for the show. And any creative process is a process by the time the show got developed into what it is today, there was a need to cast someone of Sunil’s stature and experience to be a part of the show. So when the show went on the floor when we were shooting the promo Shilpa knew about it.”

The producer further added, “We mail scripts two days in advance so if there was any apprehension she could have brought it up. She never did that. she never told me that she doesn’t want to perform with Sunil Grover or her lines were less as compared to other actors.”

Preeti feels that Shilpa’s perception of being sidelined on the show is a little premature as she has not even seen how the show has turned out to be. The producer even said that why would she hire an actress like Shilpa and not utilise her in the show. She even stated that all artiste has been given equal importance. “We will hire someone for the show, give them money and try to sabotage their career, why will we do that?” questioned Preeti.

Preeti is hoping to be able to resolve Shilpa’s concern and that they are able to entertain the audience with their show. Let’s see what Shilpa has to say about this.
