Amidst the second wave of Coronavirus, Maharashtra became one of the worst-hit states. Following the spike in Covid-19 cases, the Maharashtra government imposed a lockdown in the state last month. Following which, several films and television serial’s unit shifted base to Goa for shooting.

The latest reports state that now the Goa government too has cancelled permissions of shooting in their state in the wake of rising in Covid cases. On Thursday (May 6), the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) cancelled all permissions granted for film and television serial shooting.

After lockdown was announced in Maharashtra, the crew of shows like Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya shifted their base to Goa. However, the current situation of rising Corona cases in Goa has forced the state government to impose Section 144.

According to the PTI report, ESG’s Vice Chairman Subhash Phal Desai said that all the permissions have been cancelled till the situation in the state comes under control. “We will not allow any shooting of films or television serials in public or private properties,” Desai told the agency. Film and TV shows’ units that are currently shooting in Goa have been asked to wrap up their schedules. Section 144 has been imposed in the state under which shootings can’t be permitted.

With the Covid spike in Goa, the shooting schedule of several shows and films will now go for a toss.
