‘Hum Tum And Them’: Shweta Tiwari sheds her ‘Sanskari Bahu’ avatar in Ekta Kapoor’s new series

Shweta Tiwari made her way into people’s heart with her portrayal of Prerna Bajaj in Star Plus’s ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’. This Ekta Kapoor show made Shweta a household name. The gorgeous actress is now enjoying the second inning of her acting career. Post her separation from second husband Abhinav Kohli, Shweta is back to doing what she is best known for i.e acting.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Shweta has shed her ‘Sanskari Bahu’ avatar in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming series ‘Hum Tum and Them’. Yes, in this series based on single parents and finding love again, Shweta will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. The trailer of this series broke the internet, as it featured Shweta locking lips with her co-star Akshay Oberoi quite a few times.

Going by the trailer of ‘Hum Tum and Them’, its story revolves around Shweta Tiwari and Akshay Oberoi and how they manage to keep up with their families. Shweta and Akshay’s chemistry in the trailer is quite palpable.

‘Hum Tum and Them’ will mark Shweta’s digital debut. And it’s a pleasant surprise to see the actress shed her ‘Sanskaari bahu’ image. Talking about how the show made her come out of her comfort zone, Tiwari said, “I’m truly honoured to be a part of this project,not only because of it’s one of a kind storyline but also the fact that it pushed me out of my comfort zone, right from chopping my hair to portraying the kind of intimacy and vulnerability that I didn’t think I was courageous enough to show, and I didn’t make it easy. I cried, a lot, felt anxious every single day but there’s irrefutably no other team of people that could’ve pushed me more effectively. I know I was scared, God Knows I was, but @deeyasingh1, @sahir_raza and @akshay0beroi were so incredibly patient. Thank you Diya for supporting me and making sure I do justice to your vision of Shiva, even when I thought I couldn’t. @ektaravikapoor I can’t thank you enough for entrusting me with yet another beautiful character. Congratulating the actress for taking up this bold step, Ekta Kapoor replied, “I’m so happy u got out of ur comfort zone! Ppl will sledge u demean u for on-screen kissing n intimacy but u have to know that women r not meant fit into moulds of society …it’s their choice wat they wanna b and u wanted a new character to play …ignore unnecessary pressure…ur looking lovely classy elegant! Shweta is also seen in Sony TV’s latest show ‘Mere Dad Ki Dulhan’. Coming back to the series ‘Hum Tum and Them’, it will go on air from December 6 onwards.
